Corey In 1908, a small group of people with the faith and finances to create change saw both a city on the verge of greatness and a church in danger of surrendering its faith. Under the visionary leadership of oilman Lyman Stewart and pastor T.C. Horton, they established the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. More than a century since its founding, Biola has grown from a Bible Institute into a comprehensive, national Christian university. Our core mission, however, has remained unchanged: equipping men and women in mind and character to impact the world for the Lord Jesus Christ. Biblically centered education is at the heart of what we do. Biola has become one of the world’s leading comprehensive Christian universities, offering more than 150 undergraduate and graduate programs across nine schools. We encompass more than 6,300 students from every state and 44 countries, 60,000-plus alumni, faculty numbering in the hundreds, and thousands of friends and supporters worldwide. Our extended community is rapidly expanding, embodying conviction and courage in a multitude of ways throughout the world. In the years to come, Biola University aspires to make an impact that will eclipse anything seen in our first century of service.
